My journey: art, faith, and creativity
As a Baptist Minister and self-taught artist based in Essex, UK, I am deeply passionate about helping people encounter God through creativity. From childhood, I have always loved creating, and that passion continues to grow as I explore new techniques, materials, and ideas. I believe creativity is a gift from God that is available to everyone, not just those who consider themselves artistic.
Alongside my artwork, I lead Encountering God creative retreats, facilitate creative workshops, and use prophetic painting in worship as a way of expressing faith and encouraging others to listen to God's voice in fresh and meaningful ways. I also enjoy giving talks based on some of my paintings, sharing the stories, biblical themes, and inspiration behind them to encourage faith, reflection, and conversation.
One of my greatest joys is helping people who believe they are "not creative" discover the freedom, confidence, and enjoyment that comes through simply creating without fear of getting it wrong.
The inspiration behind my art
My art begins in the presence of God. Before it becomes a painting on canvas, it is often a journey of prayer, listening, and discovering what God is saying. I don't simply paint what I see—I seek to express something of His love, beauty, and truth through colour, texture, and imagery.
I am continually inspired by the wonder of creation, the stories of Scripture, and the quiet moments where God reminds us that we are deeply loved. Every painting is part of my own journey of faith, and each one teaches me something new about God's character, His grace, and His unfailing presence.
My hope is that those who view my work will find more than just a piece of art. I hope they will pause, reflect, and discover a sense of peace in the midst of life's busyness. I want my paintings to remind people that they are known, valued, and never alone—that there is hope, restoration, and purpose to be found in God. Whether someone shares my faith or is simply searching for beauty and meaning, I hope my art resonates deeply.

Join Christian author Sheila Jacobs and myself for a day of creativity, reflection, and encouragement. Through creative activities and creative writing, we'll explore ways of encountering God in a relaxed and welcoming setting. No artistic or writing experience is needed—just come as you are and enjoy the journey.

I will be speaking about three of my latest paintings, exploring the biblical theme "Three Women. One Welcome." Through art and storytelling, we'll reflect on God's love, grace, and welcome for all, discovering how these timeless accounts continue to speak into our lives today. Looking ahead, I am excited to develop fun workshops.
